Clinical Hypnotherapy

What is Hypnotherapy and why is it good for Weight Management?

Hypnotherapy is a safe and natural way to help you with your problems, whether past, present or future. It can help enormously with all kinds of emotional, nervous or psychological problems.  It is also very beneficial for confidence boosting and phobias.

The benefits of hypnotherapy are second to none as a route to greater self knowledge. By combining Hypnotherapy with Psychotherapy and Solution Focused techniques, Shelley will enable you to become the person you are meant to be in a relatively short space of time.

What is Trance?
One of the tremendous advantages of this type of therapy is trance. Trance is very ordinary in many ways. We go into trance many times a day, it is a perfectly natural state to be in.

You may be surprised to know that:

  • while you're in trance, you're completely aware of everything around you.
  • your mind will only accept what is beneficial to you.
  • you cannot be made to do anything that you do not want to do - you are fully in control throughout the trance
  • you are not expected to recount and relive painful memories or experiences. During therapy sessions, you are only required to look towards positive goals that you wish to achieve.

Once in a trance your subconscious mind becomes receptive to positive suggestions and allows you to gain the insights and understandings necessary to promote a change for the better.  As a Clinical Hypnotherapist, Shelley utilises this relaxed state of mind to help you change a behavioural pattern or habit or reach your true potential.

Above all, trance is a feeling of complete relaxation and tranquillity and there is absolutely nothing to be concerned about when experiencing it.

Solution Focused Therapy

Solution Focused Therapy is a practical, modern and well researched form of therapy to help people make significant and positive changes in their lives. Solution Focused Therapy uses the best of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, NLP and Ericksonian techniques in order to get people to recognise their abilities that often appear beyond their control. It is now recognised as one of the most successful forms of therapy for Depression, Anxiety, and Panic Attacks.

What it can help with:

Statistics show that diets generally fail. They are useful as a quick fix, but to maintain a healthy weight in the long term, we need to change our thought processes and habits and build new, more positive associations. If you're struggling to lose weight or keep the weight off, hypnotherapy can really help. It is one of the most natural ways to lose weight and can transform your approach to food and health.

Hypnosis can help by allowing you to overcome unconscious obstacles which prevent you from losing your weight. It will help combat the cravings and obsessions we have so often around food. It will encourage you to take care of yourself and motivate you to make changes in your life. When you're more fulfilled, you're less less likely to eat. Successful weight loss is about re-educating our unconscious minds.

Using a combination of Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy, Shelley can help you lose weight, change your unhealthy eating habits and most importantly feel better about yourself.

Treatment

For weight loss, the treatment length varies from person to person but is generally under ten sessions.
